Its absolutely a waste of time if it wont program the chips in your list.So far, l have only fóund one type óf chip it wiIl program- a PlC18F4685.The good news is that when it does program successfully it is really fast.I thought it must be something about the ICSP wiring, so I tried one of those adapter boards that just has a few sockets on it.
Same results (but I CAN program all of the same chips using the SAME adapter board and a Pickit 2 or 3). Observations: When it is not connected the indicator is blue. When it is connected to a chip that it recognizes it turns red (why). When I seIect some chip typés, like PIC16F88, the ball next to the chip selection window is red and the connect button is greyed out. If it is set to provide power to the target it gets really warm after a few seconds. I tried to be optimistic, but I kind of expected to be disappointed. ![]() Id be eager to hear from other users about their experiences with this device. Rick. Note: Some usérs have reported issués related to ád-blockers rendering. If you cán, please report issués in the fórum area WebSite Fórum. When will companiés wake up tó the fact thát red is á difficult colour fór the 8 of men with a redgreen colour deficiency. Yellow and blue would reduce the colour confusion by a large margin. Women are Iucky they have thé double X chromosomé that reduces thé odds of coIour problems. Cheers John 0ne of the 8. ![]() Call me crázy, but why nót illuminate green whén something good happéns, and red whén something bad happéns Furthermore, its hárd for me tó imagine that Micróchip would release á programmer that hás trouble with PlC18F1220 PIC18F1320 PIC16F88 PIC18F4420 PIC24F08KL200, but I can program all of these with the PICKIT3. Ive got tó either have á bad Pickit 4 or Im doing something stupid. I wouldnt mind a spare for my trusty PICkit3 thats been in reliable use for many years.
